Neàpolis is a public innovation agency born in 2.006. It was an initiative of the Vilanova i la Geltrú’s City Council (Barcelona). The function of Neàpolis is to strengthen education, entrepreneurship and economic promotion policies, focused in information, communication and creative technologies.

Vilanova i la Geltrú is a small city with a population around of 65.000 inhabitants, placed in the coastline, 45km. south from the city centre of Barcelona, and 45km. north from Tarragona. Neàpolis' building is strategically placed in the centre, 5 min from the main commercial area, the rail station and the main roads.

Neàpolis is a centre of excellence dedicated to information, communication and creative technologies. Neàpolis gathers a wide range of organizations, from start-ups to worldwide companies. Besides Neàpolis joins public and private organizations. Our main target is offering them a unique working ecosystem. There are 5 common ideas guarantee the correct function of our ecosystem:

• Innovation. Synergy between scientific research, professional education and businesses. Integration of the most recent and innovative technologies, methodologies and approaches.

• Convergence: A place where entrepreneurs and decision makers meet, projects are developed, deals are made and innovation flourishes.

Neàpolis, “The place of the technology and the ideas”, is placed in one of the most appreciated public buildings in Vilanova i la Geltrú. Since it was built, it has been managed in the line to offer the city a place to approach to education, research, innovation, creativity and technological development. Nowadays, we host local and international organizations in a collaborative ecosystem open to the entire city and its opportunities.

In order to develop our strategic working lines, we are requesting and offering:

• ORGANIZATIONS/ENTREPRENEURS. We want to attract organizations and new entrepreneurs to our city offering an enterprises hotel facility. It is open and ready to accommodate organizations that want to develop its activities in the Barcelona area. We offer all the advantages from Barcelona (45 minutes from Vilanova), but in a more relaxed, comfortable and best priced location.

• PARTNERS. FOR OUR HOSTED ORGANIZATIONS / ENTREPRENEURS.One of the services we offer to our host organizations is the looking for partners. The main objective is to find collaboration for international projects, investment or technical support. We look constantly for possible collaboration from any part of the world, but focused on Europe. We represent our guests in brokerages and events. We are open to listen initiatives, which want to do bridges with our organizations and entrepreneurs.

• PARTNERS. AS NEÀPOLIS.We, as a public innovation agency, offer the ecosystem that we have created to collaborate in projects. We can be considerate as a cluster or a hub. Neàpolis expertise areas are ICT, creativity, health, education, and most recently with environmental issues. The kind of projects we are looking for, are European projects, events hosting and students projects.

• VILANOVA LIVING LAB. Finally, we offer our city as a living lab. As members of the European Network of Living Labs, we promote the use of the city as an urban laboratory, a space to test innovative solutions for companies willing to implement tests in field.
