Under this premise Kit Urbano provides integrated solutions that not only streamline governance but promote effective resource management and therefore increase citizen participation.

We are presenting BARRIOS ACTIVOS, finalist in project category in the SCEWC last edition.

BARRIOS ACTIVOS creates the required integrative communication environment by the new digital citizens, the current governance and the emerging leaders. It meets the engagement and participation needs of the involved parties, positioning the citizen in center-stage.

It enables the citizen to connect himself with the governance by means of a computer or a smartphone and get his needs and proposals across through digital reports. These reports, in turn, will reach other members of the community, who may support them with their votes and comments. Each report, suggestion or request sent through BARRIOS ACTIVOS by the community is key information for governance management´s decision making-process, and should have a clear correlation with it, which could be evaluated later on. The result is not only the right citizen-governance communication space, but a more efficient, updated and citizen-centered governance which incorporates a participative dynamics through the use of tools according to the technological reality of the citizens.
